Not Forgotten, Still Felt

Because the past doesn’t stay in the past.

About This Blog

History is often taught as dates, events, and names.
But history is more than that.

It is people.
It is choices.
It is pain, sacrifice, and moments that still echo long after they’ve passed.

This blog, Not Forgotten, Still Felt, exists to bring those stories back to life—not just to remember them, but to understand them.

Because the truth is, the past doesn’t stay in the past.
It lives in us, in our decisions, in our world today.

If we don’t take the time to learn from it, we risk repeating it.

About Me

My name is James Dillon.

I didn’t come to this overnight.

Over the years, I’ve lived, worked, served, struggled, and learned—both through my own experiences and through the stories of others. I’ve always had a deep respect for history, not just as a subject, but as something that shapes who we are.

The teachers and professors I had along the way didn’t just teach history—they made it matter. They showed me that history isn’t about memorizing facts. It’s about understanding people.

And now, I feel called to do the same.

Through writing, I want to reach people.
Not with lectures, but with stories.
Not with noise, but with meaning.

Why I Write

I believe we must know and learn our past so as not to make the same grave mistakes in the future.

But more than that, I believe people need to feel it.

Because when history is only read, it can be forgotten.
But when it is felt, it stays with us.

That is why I write.

A Final Thought

Some stories don’t end.
They echo.

And if we’re willing to listen,
they still have something to teach us.
